In this special 95.9 Company Break Mike talks to South County Healths Development Director Lauren Goldenberg and Special Events Coordinator Carrie Brown about their upcoming gala, themed Mission Possible, being held on September 9th at the Dunes Club in Narragansett. They will feature a complimentary cocktail reception, dinner, silent & live auctions, a raffle and Music by The Cartells. The funds raised from the gala allow them to continue to provide services and programs that help save lives every day. The hospital was recently awarded a double five star rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). South County Hospital is one of only 19 hospitals in the country to receive the highest score of 5-Stars in two areas used to measure healthcare excellence – Overall Hospital Quality and Patient Care. CMS developed the Star Rating System to simplify complex criteria that measure healthcare quality so that healthcare consumers can make informed decisions. The ratings are assigned to over 4,000 hospitals across the country. South County Hospital is the only hospital in the Northeast to earn a 5-Star rating in the two categories.They will also be raising money through a fund-need to support South County Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds mental health initiatives for youth. Washington County has the highest suicide rate in the state, and based on a recent Community Health Needs Assessment, they have identity Behavioral Health as a key focus.
