In this episode of Jazz After Dinner host Joe Parillo plays the Bobo Stenson Trio with Bobo Stenson on Piano; Anders Jormin on Bass and the late PaulMotian on Drums. Paul recently passed away on November 22, 2011. This is only a very small example to the vast amount of music Paul Motian made from playing with the Bill Evans Trio to Keith Jarrett, Thelonius Monk, Paul Bley and many, many others. Paul was born in Philadelphia and raised in Providence Rhode Island until he moved to New York City to start his jazz career. This is a somewhat meditative evening with subtle trance-like musical musings of the Bobo Stenson Trio with improvisations and interpretations on tunes by Ornette Coleman, Stephen Sondheim and even Henry Purcell as well as from the bassist Anders Jormin.
