05-12-19 The Omer Quartet - WCRI’s Festival Series featuring The Newport Music Festival

In this program WCRI host Mike Maino and The Newport Music Festivals Executive Director Pamela Pantos continue to preview the Newport Music Festival 2019 Season. In today's show they discuss a group that's distinctive among today’s young string quartets, the Omer Quartet. They have won First Prize in the 2017 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and holds the Helen F. Whitaker Chamber Music Chair of YCA. It makes debuts during the 2018-2019 season in the Peter Jay Sharp Concert of YCA in New York at Merkin Concert Hall, and in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center.
