Dvořák produced his New World Symphony, Verdi created his opera Falstaff, and Tchaikovsky wrote his Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique". The concert begins with the stunning Six Romances Sans Paroles by Cécile Chaminade. In 1913, she was the first female composer to be awarded the Legion of Honor.
