04-14-19 Italian Opera Night - WCRI’s Festival Series featuring The Newport Music Festival

In this program WCRI host Mike Maino and The Newport Music Festivals Executive Director Pamela Pantos continue to preview the Newport Music Festival 2019 Season. The Festival’s Italian Opera Night at THE BREAKERS on Saturday, July 13 @ 8:00 pm. This season the Festival invites two opera stars to our stage: Kara Shay Thomson, Soprano, and Jonathan Burton, Tenor. Together they have sung Puccini’s Turandot, Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, and Puccini’s Tosca at major opera companies throughout the United States. During this wonderful evening, they will sing their roles from these three operas and much more including Norma, Rigoletto, Don Carlos, and Ballo in Maschera. Joined by Festival favorites Renée Rapier, Mezzo, and Trevor Neal, Baritone, this will be a night to remember as this incredible cast sings arias, duets, and ensembles from the greatest Italian operas.
